Come on down to Dick’s for some family fun on the beautiful Brazos River and Lake Whitney. Dick’s Place has been serving Texas canoers for over 20 years.

We offer rental of both canoes and kayaks for a fun filled trip from Lake Whitney dam to our location just over 8 miles down river. We can also deliver boats to nearby lakes for group events.

Pick up your boat at Dick’s or we can provide a shuttle to the put in location just below Lake Whitney dam. Then spend the day paddling, exploring, swimming, fishing, and relaxing as you make your way down stream.

This trip will take anywhere from three to six hours (or possibly more) depending on water and wind conditions, your paddling muscle condition, and how much playing or fishing you do along the way.

Be sure to take along plenty of nice cold drinks (including lots of water), a good lunch, a quality sunscreen, hats, and your fishing gear. Bring along your phone or waterproof camera as there will be plenty of opportunities for fun action shots, river wildlife and scenery.
